This week....

This week I've felt quilt neaseaus.....so that has made for very nice days.
I drove myself to Bonnies.......the first time I've driven myself for quite s while.  I don't feel that confident any more, and I get very tired.
Saturday we visited with Bella...I had to sit on her quilt and we had a tea party. After that we played Lego, building big towers for Bella to smash down.
Sunday we took Bella to the farm to see the the baby calves, and the chooks......
I've just finished another toddler cardigan to add toy stash

A little more..

I forgot to say that I've had two days of visitors....and its been lovely just chatting and catching up....
It is unbelievable how much a familiar face can cheer u up.

I do have regular visits from Bonnie and miss Bella....and how could that gorgeous face not brighten your day.

Today I felt inspired enough to do some raw edge applique.....this is my project so far.......

Radiation

I've had 4 days of radiation..., it was fairly full on, the did quite a large area and hit it from both back and front.    It made me very tired and I felt neaseaus and had vomiting.  What I must say is how lovely all of the staff at Latrobe are....they actually treat u as a person, not just a number.
The pain in my back does seem to have eased....so I guess it was worth the pain.

I've also had 800mls of fluid drained from my lung....not a very pleasant experience....but I feel all the better for having it gone.

I had sewing here with the girls on Sunday...I managed to make pumpkin soup for lunch.  Had s lovely day catching up and getting some stitching done.

I haven't just been sitting idle.....I've knitted a toddler cardigan .....

Feelings

I know there r people out there who are way worse off than me but today I'm feeling a little sorry for my self .....just seems that I go from my bed to the chair.

Thought I'd break out the jigsaw puzzle....at least it'll keep my mind occupied.

I am still in quite a bit of pain....can't bend, lift things etc., feeling nueasea   most of the time, tired also.  I am slowly getting the washing done, dried and folded..... Done a little dusting.  Just can't manage to make my bed.

My mum was flown out to Burnie again today, she still has pneumonia.....so its  quite obvious that they shouldn't have sent her home.

Lots of people have offered to help etc.,   but they don't seem to follow through........  :-/

Tomorrow will b a better day.

Hmmmm

Just had 4 days in Tassie seeing my my brother and my mum who were both in different hospitals there. Also got to catch up with family and some very dear friends.  Thanks to my sister for taking me......

Today was my first day of radiation..I'm a little worn out and I sort of feel like u do when your achey from the flu......buts its one day down  and 3 more to go.

I'm off to centerlink tomorrow.  I have an appointment with their Dr so that he can decide if I should still have to work or not......never mind that my gp has already filled in all the relevant paperwork about this.

Had a visit from some long time family friends who drove all the way from Melbourne, had a lovely roast dinner that Adam prepared.....and then they turned around and drove home again.  That's caring isn't it!!!! Thank you Sue and Mel

Saturday 22/6

Sooo...... The plan is to have 5 days of radiation on my lower back...the Dr is certain that by doing this she can reduce the pain by up to 75%.......so bring it on.
The main problem is that I have no strength, and my bones are sore.....I can't stand for long periods, I can't lift things.....not even miss Bella..
Yesterday was my last day at work.... I really had no choice I just can't do it!!!
I don't want your sympathy, its just a part of our lives, but I would appreciate your love and support for me and my kids......

Battle ahead

For those of u that don't know......I had breast cancer in 2004.  I had a lumpectomy, shortly followed by a masectomy and then 6 months of chemotheraphy. I never wanted to have to face a battle like this again!!!  Unfortunately the battle has begun AGAIN.  I've been suffering from a bad back for quite a few weeks.....after some exrays, scans, and ct's its been discovered that I now have secondary breast cancer which is in the form of bone metastases.
I'm gonna leave u all with that information .....but I plan to keep everyone up to date via my blog.

Something new

I'm in the middle of making s reversable pinafore for Miss Bella.....something that she can wear leggings and boots with.  Another few weeks in oz and it'll b winter.

Since my last update, we've moved house....what a job, but a good time to have a good clean out.  We have pretty much settled in.....
Unfortunately I have done my back in.... Not fun, I think its getting beta and then the minute I do something even a little bit strenuous.....I'm back to square one.

My sewing room seems to be the junk room at the moment, but I've found room to set up my sewing machine.....

More updates to come......

It's time for Christmas

This is the first block in a BOM that the magazine homespun is running, I'm mot sure I needed another Christmas quilt, but I'm sure gonna enjoy stitching this one.

Needlework roll

I just whipped up this needlework roll....I cheated a bit by using double sided pre quilted fabric.
It's the ideal thing to protect your stitcheries or applique blocks.

Newest creation

Gracie Anne.  This is what my sewing girls have all been making.....this pattern has been around since about 2006......
I've given her a bit of a country look and she looks great standing in my lounge room.

Finally

Well hello..
I'd been having trouble updating my blog, I got my daughter holly to fix the problem......so now finally I get to post an update.

I've turned a year older.....got very spoilt.

Christmas has been and gone. We had so much fun this year with Bella.

We flew to king island to spend Christmas with my family.

Holly and I had a little road trip to albury to visit friends,..

I 've completed quite a few sewing projects.

And 2013 is here, and moving along very quickly.

That's a short overview of what's been happening.......I'll post pics next time.
